About This Program

Overview
The Sales Engineer Apprenticeship Program combines technical knowledge with business and communication skills to prepare apprentices for careers at the intersection of engineering and sales. Sales Engineers understand manufacturing processes and production management, enabling them to present technical solutions, advise customers, and support companies in meeting client needs. Acting as a bridge between customers and engineering or R&D teams, they translate technical capabilities into business value and help tailor products and services to customer requirements.

Program Structure
Throughout the program, apprentices gain practical experience in sales and customer relations while completing coursework toward an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration and a Sales Engineer Certification. Subjects include economics, accounting, production management, marketing, and technical electives such as CAD, robotics, and PLCs. Graduates are prepared for roles such as Inside or Outside Sales Managers, Customer Relations Specialists, or Technical Sales Representatives. Upon completion, apprentices earn Journeyworker Papers from the Department of Labor & Industry, a College Certificate in Sales Engineering, an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, and the German Industriekauffrau / -mann Apprenticeship Certificate (DIHK).
