About This Program

Overview
The Mechatronics Apprenticeship Program trains future technicians to install, maintain, and repair advanced manufacturing systems, including robots, CNC machines, and automated production equipment. Combining mechanical and electrical skills, Mechatronics Technicians play a key role in keeping high-tech machinery running smoothly. Their troubleshooting, inspection, and repair abilities make them essential to modern manufacturing operations.

Program Structure
During the 2.5-year program, apprentices gain hands-on experience while completing technical instruction at the college level. Courses cover electrical systems, motor controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, and programmable logic controls (PLC). Graduates are prepared for careers as Maintenance, Field, or Mechatronics Technicians and earn multiple credentials, including Journeyworker Papers from the Department of Labor & Industry, a College Certificate, an Associate’s Degree in Mechatronics Technology, and the German MechatronikerIn Apprenticeship Certificate (DIHK).
